Westover Property

The honest answer was the powerful one: the wind couldn’t have done it — the hail did, and the numbers prove both halves.

The Problem

After the May 2025 St. Louis hail-and-tornado outbreak, a multi-tenant commercial roof showed widespread damage — but attributing everything to wind wouldn’t survive scrutiny. The mechanics had to be separated quantitatively.

What TCE Did

  • Computed actual wind uplift (26–31 psf) against ≈72 psf design capacity — ruling out a design-level windstorm
  • Attributed ≈196 LF of displaced parapet metal to cyclic fatigue of hail-weakened components — a defensible, nuanced causation
  • Produced a standalone NOAA meteorological report computing distance-to-property for every severe event over six years
